At Azimuth, we support a full range of production needs — from prototype development and one-off assemblies to small-scale production runs of hundreds of units.
Our mechanical engineering team can manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial research and concept development through mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, testing, sourcing, build procedures, and final assembly.
Testing and Verification:
We utilize in-house thermal, shock, and vibration testing equipment to rapidly validate designs during development. For full certification, we partner with accredited external test facilities to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Assembly Scale:
We design and build assemblies of all sizes — from small, handheld devices and body-worn systems to large-scale projects such as modified 20’ shipping containers and cargo trailers.
Design Tools:
We rely on SolidWorks for complete 3D CAD design, simulation, and production drawing generation, ensuring precision from concept to manufacturing.
Manufacturing Expertise:
Our team has extensive experience across a wide range of fabrication methods, including:
Additive Manufacturing (SLS, SLA, MJF, FDM)
Sheet Metal Fabrication (Aluminum and Steel)
CNC Machined Components (Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Plastics)
Weldments and Structural Fabrications (Steel and Aluminum)
Specialized Design Experience:
Ruggedized electronic enclosures
Shock-mounted 19” racks
Operator workstations
Specialized support structures
In-House Capabilities:
Small-format CNC machining (20” L x 20” W x 6” H) for aluminum and plastics
Large-format 3-axis routing (4’ x 8’) for foam, plastics, and wood
Laser cutting (18” x 12”)
Thermal test oven
Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing (12” L x 12” W x 24” H)
Finishing Processes:
We offer high-quality finishing services including powder coating, irriditing, and anodizing, ensuring that all components are durable, corrosion-resistant, and visually refined.
Mobile Command Trailer Integration
Azimuth was tasked with outfitting a 24’ enclosed cargo trailer to serve as a mobile command center.
The project included the installation of four dual-monitor workstations, each equipped with rack-mounted computers, all networked to a shock-mounted main equipment rack.
The main rack housed system servers, a UPS system, networking equipment, a NAS storage array, and a video matrix switch.
The trailer interior was upgraded with:
LED lighting throughout
A front-mounted cabinet with integrated work surface
An interior-mounted TV display
An electrical breaker panel for internal systems
Externally, a 30’ pneumatic mast was mounted on the trailer’s front tongue, supporting:
Radar units
Radar control hub
Weather station
Wi-Fi hub
Additionally, the trailer roof was outfitted with a custom roof rack featuring:
A lightning detector
Two 13.5’ masts which served as mounting platforms for a surveillance camera, an ADS-B antenna, and drone command antennas.
Azimuth delivered a rugged, fully integrated mobile operations platform designed to support advanced surveillance, communications, and mission management in the field.
